Super Fine Weight Yarns

By Yarn Council general guidelines, super fine yarn consists of fingering and 10-count crochet thread. The knit gauge is 33-40 sts per 4" (8.25-10 sts 1") and 32-42 crochet per 4". Generally a 1.5mm-2.25mm (US000-1) needle or a 1.4-1.6mm (6, 7, 8, or B-1) hook is used with these yarns. Of course, all yarn can be knit or crochet up in anyway a person chooses. When finding substitutions, however, Super Fine (Fingering) Weight Yarns help tremendously.
