#113 Cherry Blossoms Bags

These bags were inspired by the delicate majesty of the Japanese cherry blossoms in Washington, DC. The 3,000 original trees were gifted by the people of Tokyo in 1912. The aesthetic of these bags is retro and chic: they are reminiscent of the sleek lines found in antique Chinese porcelains or silk brocades. The bag comes in two sizes and a number of colorways. One will be right just for you!

Pattern Difficulty Level: Intrepid Beginner to Intermediate. Requires knowledge of knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, and knitting in the round on circular and double-pointed needles.

Materials for small bag:
Colorway 1: 3 hanks of 4006 (galaxy) & 1 hank each of 2442 (fog hatt), 9477 (tutu), 9478 (cotton candy), 8010 (natural) and 1 ball Crystal Palace Fizz 7305 (sunshine yellow);
Colorway 2: 3 hanks of 8011 (aspne heather) & 1 hank each of 4006 (galaxy), 9477 (tutu), 9478 (cotton candy), 8010 (natural) and 1 ball Crystal Palace Fizz 7305 (sunshine yellow);
Colorway 3: 3 hanks of 9407 (celery) & 1 hank each of 4006 (galaxy), 9477 (tutu), 9478 (cotton candy), 8010 (natural) and 1 ball Crystal Palace Fizz 7305 (sunshine yellow).

Materials for large bag:
4 hanks of 7816 (bluebell) & 1 hank each of 2442 (fog hatt), 9477 (tutu), 9478 (cotton candy), 8010 (natural) and 1 ball Crystal Palace Fizz 7305 (sunshine yellow).

US#11 (8mm) 24" circular needles, US#5 (3.75mm) straight needles, US#7 (4.6mm) double point needles, US#F or G (4.5mm) crochet hook. 6 25mm bag feet.
