To get to Chaco Canyon in Chaco Culture National Historical Park, New Mexico, you turn off the highway only to drive many miles over a stony, rutted road. The serious make the uncomfortable trip and are rewarded with stunning red, sun-drenched landscapes. The sky is immense, the sun unrelenting, the red dust omnipresent. Cactus flowers seem miraculous in this landscape, dazzling in yellow, peach, fuchsia. Unexpected.
Decorate yourself with these startling desert jewels. Perfect for embellishing sandals, the strap of a sundress, the lapel of your summer jacket, the neck of that bottle of Chardonnay given as a gift. Make them in hand-dyed silk, or fine merino, embellish with sparkle rivets for a dazzling accent. Or wear it all alone as a stunning ring.

Never did a man's fedora seem so feminine but when Roxy clipped her favorite flower to the hat band. She would wear it tucked behind her ear in shades that matched her lipstick, clipped to the lapel of her mannish coat, inspiring the neckline of her dress, or decorating her patent leather high heels. If she had worn flip flops. . . There would have been a single one in the center of each.
Inspired by by the costumes and characters in Chicago and a man's carnation boutonniere, Roxy's favorite is a flower that dresses up the plainest frock, bag, or cloche . . . and makes you look twice. Just like Roxy herself.

These great-looking, slouchy bags in the Hobo genre are easy to knit, felt, and finish. With three imminently practical sizes, they are also easy to wear and use. The hardware is interesting and gives the finished bag a fresh look that is comfortable on the shoulder or in the hand. I attached the handle rings to the bag with the handle tabs using four rivets, which makes the finishing quick as well as giving the bag a polished appearance. However, sewing the tabs is also a great option. The built-in zipper tabs make putting in a zipper easy and trouble-free.
Use the small size for wallet and keys (or a great-looking lunch sack) and the medium for everyday use. The larger bag is perfect for women who find themselves gravitating toward those larger totes that allow them to carry all the essentials in one bag. A great pattern sure to become a Noni Classic.

Orange Kitty Hoodie Towel/Blanket in 2 Sizes with Kitty Jammie Bag (No. 505)

We have a kitty named "Orange". He was wild in the beginning and I put food out for him until he was injured. Then I took him in and he's been mine ever since. He is my little boy's sometime playmate (we make toys out of paper and yarn from my studio) and is still devotedly loving. In these towel/blankets, I sought to capture my Orange kitty's happy attitude and good nature, as well as loving softness. Unlike many hoodie towels out there, these are square, so they envelope your little sweetie (little legs too). Two sizes allow you to wrap up infants and later toddlers after bath time.
