Lorna's Laces Haymarket

Have you heard about Haymarket?

Lorna's Laces newest yarn is 100% Bluefaced Leicester Wool, also called simply BFL. This is a great opportunity to try working with different wool! This single-ply, worsted yarn is soft yet hard-wearing.

There are already great designs popping up to use this fantastic yarn. Morning Coffee by Kate Oates and Mindy by Julia Farwell-Clay are both fantastic sweater choices. Start now and have your first new sweater ready for fall! If you'd like to give the yarn a try without investing in a full sweater, a cowl like Amy Christoffers' Love and Happiness or Lonely Tree Shawl by Sylvia Bo Bilia may be just what your needles ordered!

Lorna's Laces Sock

Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Page Makeover!

We just wanted to highlight that our page for Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock has gotten a bit of a facelift. The Shepherd Sock line is a luxurious mix of wool and nylon to create colorful and durable socks or other delicate garments. Fingering weight can be used in baby clothes, hats, gloves, lace shawls and more. The multicolors in Lorna's Laces Shepherd sock have short color runs and the colors will mix like falling rain in larger garments. In small items such as hats or socks the knitter might find color spirals as the colors change. It really all varies! That's the fun of hand-dyed yarns.

Universal Bamboo Pop

Universal Bamboo Pop is here!

Universal's Bamboo Pop knits up light as air yet stays drapey from the limp nature of the fibers. The 50/50 cotton and bamboo blend lends this yarn a summery sheen and the light twist keeps the final fabric smooth and soft. The Dew Drop Cowl is a perfect way to use this yarn and add a pop of color to your wardrobe! It's a free download on Raverly. No winding is needed; you can start using the 292 yards right away on a US5-7 needle or US7 hook. The colors are so fresh and vibrant!

Schachenmayr Solavita is Radiant!

This vibrantly colored cotton yarn is made up of 3 seperately dyed strands and then woven together. It creates an almost ribbon-like appearance and a lot of visual interest in finished products. A pattern like Zuzu's Petals, is a great accessory to knit for yourself. This yarn would also be great for a crochet project like the 12m-24m Little White Dress for your favorite little miss! Both patterns are available for free on Ravelry.
