A short sleeve cool weather top with raglan armholes and lacey sleeves.

Gauge: 6 sts per inch.

Shrinking Stripes

A fast knitting and easy pullover.

Finished Chest Measurements: 34, 38, 42, 46, 50 inches.

Materials: 5, 5, 5, 6, 7 hanks of Bullfrogs and Butterflies in any nearly solid, and 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, skeins of a multicolor. Needles US#6 & 8, #6 16" circular (for neck).

Gauge: 4.5 sts per inch (Lion & Lamb and Shepherd Worsted also get this gauge. See my yarn standards page for other yarn substitutions.)

Boarder's Beanie

This hat is for wearinig under a helmet (for snowboarders) or just on its own. The young people today love this snuggly fitted hat.

Sizes: Choose size of head or one size smaller for a good fit. 17.6, 18.5, 19.2 and 20".

Materials: One hank of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted. 16" circular needle in US#5 and 7. Double pointed needles in size 7. 4 stitch markers.

Gauge: 5 sts per inch.

Kimono Swing Coat Pattern

Finished chest measurements: 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 56, 60 inches. Lengths: 25.25, 26.75, 28, 29.5, 31, 32.5 inches.

Materials: Yarn A-Lion & Lamb (color shown Envy) 5, 6, 6, 7, 8, 9 hanks. Yarn B-Glory (color shown Gold Hill (but photo appears quite red, as Gold Hill is in Glory. looking at the two colors they look good together.) 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4 hanks.

Lorna's Laces Tamara Jacket

A barely-there jacket is the perfect coverup when evenings turn chilly. The short, modified set-in sleeves are worked in an alternating cable and openwork pattern. The cut-away body is stockinette stitch. All openings are edged with a narrow band of 1/1 Twisted Rib.

Lorna's Laces Lace & Laced Up

A very light weight shell in a simple lace pattern, using 2 strands of Helen's Lace.

Lorna's Laces Trees of the Season Ribbed Pullover

A comfortable pullover with a mock turtleneck. Design is textured rib and cables.

Lorna's Laces Cara Cardigan or Vest.

An allover cable and openwork pattern is the focus of this design. The vertical line of the pattern is enhanced by the lengthened lower band, which is worked in 2x2 ribbing. The snug hood repreats the textured theme; front edges and vest armbands are ribbed also. A zipper is used for closures. When knit as a cardigan, stockinette stitch sleeves add further textural interest.

Finished Chest Measurements: 38, 42, 44 inches

Lorna's Laces Flared Sleeve Pullover

a simple pullover with a boat neck and slightly flared sleeves. Designer, Melissa Leapman, has worked knit and purl rows into a textured horizontal looking rib. Very simple pattern. Very comfortable.

Finished Chest Measurements: 34, 37, 40, 43 and 46.5 inches.

Materials: Swirl DK 8, 9, 9, 10, 10 hanks. US#5 knitting needles.

Gauge: 5.75 sts per inch.

Jaipore Twin Set

This twin set consists of a Cholis, a tight fitting Indian top worn under saris and a rectangular show using the same lace pattern of the Cholis. A rectangular cover-up is called a dupatta or chunni and is used all over northern India.

Finished chest measurements: 34.5, 38.5, 42.75, 46.75 and 50.75. US#6 24" circular and double point needles. US#4 24" circular. Shawl is approx 30" x 72" after blocking.

Materials: Top 7, 7, 8, 9, 11 hanks in Swirl DK (model was done in Aqua). Shawl uses 7 hanks (model was done in Georgetown), 10 10-gram tubes of size 6 silver-lined crystal beads. US #11 straight or circular. Stitch Markers. Tapestry Needle. Size J hook for fringe.

Eliza Top from Lorna's Laces

Bright colors and a cowl collar combine in a jazzy summer blouse. This top ends just below the waist; peek-a-boo holes highlight the lower band. For the more daring, the length can be shortened to tummy baring. Narrow ribbing finishes the armholes and lower edges of the collar and body.

Materials: Swirl DK 4, 4, 5, 6 hanks. (Sample used #640 Bittersweet), and 2 balls of contrast color (Sample used #23ns Berry). US#4 (3.5mm) and US#5 (3.75mm) straight and 24& circular needles.

Half Zip Pullover from Lorna's Laces

Cardigan or pullover? Both combine in this design which features a zipper closure in the funnel collar. OXO cables are flanked on either side by smaller coin cables; 2 by 2 ribbing fills the sides. The modified set-in sleeves feature the large cable pattern only, flanked by ribbing. Side pockets add convenience.

Finished Chest Measurements: 38, 42, 46, 50.

Materials: Swirl Chunky 10, 11, 12, 13 hanks. (Shown in #14ns Denim). US#7 (4.5mm) needles, cable needle, stitch markers, stitch holders and 7" zipper.

Gauge: 6 sts per inch in 2x2 rib pattern. Swirl Chunky is normally 3 sts per inch on a US#11 needle.

Lorna's Laces Shaded T-Top

The comfortable T-Top is very flattering to our not-so-perfect figure. It might be the way that the Linen Stitch drapes (a 4 row, 2 st repeat) or the lovely way that Lion and Lamb falls and skims over our curves.

Lorna's Laces Georgia Jacket

Random cables of varying sizes are the main focus of this jacket. The cables begin without any introduction at the lower body edge, while the indented sleeves start with turned-back cuffs worked in horizontal ribbing. Front edges are also trimmed with horizontal ribbing, and end with an extended tab for the single-button closure.

Finished Chest Measurements: 40, 45, 50 & 55 inches
