Child's Painter Jacket Dress

A design inspired by those days when children wore Daddy’s white dress shirt backwards to keep their frocks clean while painting. This Jacket is worn with 3 ties on the bodice back, features feather and fan lace at hem, sleeves and necklines, and garter stitch over the shoulders. Skirt back is left open to revealed ruffled diaper covers, another look from the past.

Sizes: 22.5 (24, 25)” finished chest measurement

Materials: LORNA’S LACES Swirls DK (85% Merino wool 15% silk, 2 oz., 150 yards each): 4, 5, 5 skeins.

Needles: size 6 double points and size 6 circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge.

Other Tools: 6 point protectors, 14 stitch markers, 2 stitch holders, 1mm matching K1C2 Rainbow Elastic, 1.75mm crochet hook.

Gauge: 22 sts = 4” in stockinet stitch.

Baby Vest in Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock Yarn

This cute baby vest pattern is written so that both machine and hand knitters can knit this pattern.
It is a fast project and because it uses Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock yarns, there are alot of fun colors to choose from. Also, because it uses a sock yarn, it washes and wears very nicely. 

Sizes 20.6" 22.8" & 24.2" require only 2 hanks of Shepherd Sock.

Sample was done in Shepherd Sock Rainbow #601.

Pleasing Plaid Cardigan for Babies & Kids

6 sizes!! 6 months, 1 year, 2 year, size 4-6, size 8-10, size 12 which comes to a final garment chest measurement of 20, 22, 24, 28, 323 36 inches. requires only 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2 hanks of Shepherd Worsted in a nearly solid, and 1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2 hanks of a multi-color. US#8 needles in circular 24" and set of straights.

Gauge: 5 sts per inch.

Body is knit in one piece, back and forth, up to the underarm, then divided for the back and fronts. Sleeves are knit separately and sewn in. Technique used for this plaid/fairisle look is slipped stitch. Actually pretty easy.

I'm seeing Spots! Baby Cardigan

Sizes 6 months, 1 year, 2 year which comes to a final garment chest measurement of 20" 22" & 24" requires only 1, 1, 2 hanks of Shepherd Worsted in a nearly solid, and 1 hank of a multi-color. US#8 needles in circular 24" and set of double points.

Gauge: 4.5 sts per inch.

Totally seamless! Body is knit in 1 piece. Sleeves are knit in the round up to the underarm. Fast project!!

Lorna's Laces I-Cord Boogie

Sizes: 0-3 (3-6, 6-9) mos

Materials: 1 hank of Shepherd Sport (sample done in #105 Glenwood). US#5 needles.

Gauge is 6 sts per inch in stockinette stitch.

Americana Baby Pullover

A crew neck modified batwing pullover in Shepherd Sport yarn. Knit seamlessly with sleeves picked up and knit down. This would also look very cute in a different color selection, such as pink, yellow and cream.

Sizes: 6, 12 & 18 mos, which is a finished chest measurement of 20, 22, 24 inches.

Materials: 1 hank each of 3 different colors. US#4 16" circular needle and set of double points.

Gauge is 7.5 sts per inch.

Lorna's Laces Candy Dots Cardigan

Finished measurements: 20, 22, 24 & 28" (which is 6 mos, 1, 2, 3-4 years)

Materials: 1, 2, 2, 2, hanks of Shepherd Worsted Natural, and 1 hank each of Periwinkle (in ribs) and 1 hank of Child's Play (for dots). US#6 & #8 needles, G crochet hook and 4, 4, 5, 5, 1/2" buttons.

Gauge is 4.5 sts per inch over candy dot pattern.

Blips of Color Children's Sweater

Blips of Color light up the yoke and trim of this children's sweater. Seamless, semi-raglan construction makes for quick knitting.

Finished measurements: 24, 24, 26, 28, 30" (which is 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 years approx)

Materials: 2, 3, 3, 4, 4 hanks of Shepherd Worsted nearly solid (sample uses Poppy), and 1 hank of multi (sample uses Glenwood). US#8 double pointed needles and 20 or 24" circular, US#6 needles, stitch markers, stitch holders, tapesty needle.

Gauge is 4 sts per inch.

Lorna's Laces Simplest Sweater for Baby

This little cutey is a great project for gift giving. Pattern includes both knit version and crochet version, and is done in one piece.

Sizes: newborn (18" chest measurement) and 6 month (22" chest measurement.

Materials: 2 (3) skeins of Lorna's Laces Swirl DK, 1/2" button or 1/2 yd of 1" ribbon. US#4 straight needles. Or Size G hook for crochet version.

Gauge: Knit gauge is 5.5 sts per inch. Crochet guage is 4.5 single crochets per inch.
