3 easy, beginner level scarves that use only 2 balls each of Madil Kid Seta (or Douceur et Soie or Kid Haze). The EZ Capelet has an optional scallop edging which requires 1 extra ball.

Contrary to styles, these scarves are classics and will never go out of style. The Twin Rib is perfect for the professional and looks good under a hood and lapel. The mobius is always popular and looks good up or down. This mobius is even large enough to be pulled down and worn across the upper bust line. The capelet is just adorable. It is open in front and has a sweetheart neckline that just begs for that antique pin.

Twin Rib uses a US#10.5 needle, but can be done easily in a US#11. The Super EZ Mobius uses a US#11 needle straight or circular needle. The EZ Capelet uses a US#11 needle, 32" or longer. I did mine on a 60" so I could see it opened out.

This twin set consists of a Cholis, a tight fitting Indian top worn under saris and a rectangular show using the same lace pattern of the Cholis. A rectangular cover-up is called a dupatta or chunni and is used all over northern India.

Choose between Trailing Fuchsia Lace or Double Fuchsia Lace. Pattern includes Eugen's favorite twisted garter stitch edges. Scarves are shown in DK weight, but the pattern can easily be knit in other weights. I think I will try the Double Fuchsia version using Lorna's Laces Lion and Lamb--aught to be jaw dropping!

In a sport (Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport-very soft!) or DK weight yarn, the scarves will finish out to roughly 6inches wide. The Trailing Fuchsia version (dark one) would be roughly 61inches long. The Double Fuchsia version (lighter one) is roughly 52 inches long.

Fiber Trends Cocoon Lace Scarf or Wrap #AC-73x

Puffy cocoons outlined by waving knit stitches. On the opposite side, purl sts outline the cocoons giving a different, but equally attractive look and a reversable fabric.

The light seafoam scarf in front is out of Kid Seta. Knit One Crochet Too Douceur et Soie is also a lace weight 70/30 kid mohair/silk yarn that will work. It was knit with US#7 needles.

Cowl & Cable Poncho #1164.

Beautiful texture, and easy pattern to keep you happy for hours! Done in Temptation 50% baby alpaca/50% merino wool on size 11 needles, this knits up very fast.

knitting level is Intermediate, but because the yarn is so bulky, is a great learning project for beginners too.

Materials: US #11 (8mm), (done in 2 panels).

Knitting Pure and Simple #246 Women's Poncho.

An easy to knit poncho, knitted from the top down in bulky weight yarn at 3 1/2 to the inch. Can be made without the hood and fringe, also. 3 sizes.

We are knitting it with Shepherd Bulky from Lorna's Laces in NS Charcoal, and have added a strand of Knit One Crochet too Douceur et Soie. Douceur et Soie makes just a tiny touch of a halo with its kid mohair & silk blend.

Muench's Tessin Yarn and Lorna's Laces Shepherd Bulky Yarn both knit beautifully at 3.5 sts per inch on my #10 knitting needles! Stayed tuned. When the patterns are in stock, I will be able to add the yardage requirements and the shopping cart scripts.

Background yarn (in photo) was a cotton on Size 6 needles and completed measurements ended at 42" deep by 86& wide. A third sample (not shown) using mohair (try Lorna's Laces Heaven) using US#11 needles finished up at 47" deep by 103" wide. Other yarns that come to my mind that I've seen worked up is Knit One Crochet Too Douceut et Soie, Madelaine or Truffles. Or Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock makes a very soft, draping shawl and Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport.

Gauge: Approx 4.5 sts = 1" in lace pattern, AFTER BLOCKING.
