Concord Top-Down Swing Coat

Cardigan is knit in an swing style where the bottom is fuller. Part of this is achieved with a back gusset and generous body shaping. Carigan also has a back yoke, which gives it a beautiful tailored look, when paired with the collar which is knit to lay flat. Pattern also includes instructions to customize your fit on sleeve and body length, as well as armhole depth.

Tweed Rib Cardigan

Pattern #184 from Vermont Fiber Designs


An unusual, but fast, construction makes this project as fast as top down projects. The body of this lovely cardigan is worked in one piece from the bttom of the back, over theshoulders, increasing for the sleeves, over the shoulder and down the fronts, ending at the ribbing at the bottom. Button placement was done so you havr plenty of ease in the hips.

Newport Cardigan #K2.30

This flattering fingertip length cardigan, with a single button and a ribbed waist, is worked in one piece with shoulder seams. It has fitted shoulders and a decrease panel down the top of each sleeve.

This jacket has a simple textured slip stitch, in vertical columns, that is very very easy to do.

Finished Chest Measurements: 39, 42, 45, 48, 51, 54 inches.

Choose to knit it in Worsted Weight or DK Weight Yarns.

Lazy Daisy Cardigan

This sweater is knit in 3 pieces: the back and backs of the sleeves, each front and the front half of a sleeve.

Sizes: Finished Chest Measurement of 40, 46 & 52". Sleeve lengths are easily adjustable, and body length is also easily adjustable.

Materials: Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport 1400 yds. US#5 or needle necessary to get 6 sts per inch.


Victoria Cardigan

The Victoria Cardigan is a close fitting, waist length surplice. The open garter stitch lends a good deal of stretch to the finished garment. Helen's Lace, knit on a US#4 needle produces a very thin fabric, yet still warm due to the wool/silk blend.

Sizes: 34, 36, 38 and 40".

Materials: 2 hanks of Lorna's Laces Helen's Lace for all sizes. US#4 needle (set of straights, 29" circular and pair of double points. Crochet Hook F for cast on. Or size needed to get 6 sts per inch in garter stitch.


Simple Cardigan #168 from Vermont Fiber Designs

This gorgeous cardigan rates an experienced level of knitter because of the use of short row shaping in the collar and sleeves. If you've not worked short rows before, give it a try. You will find that it is not hard at all and the cardigan is well worth the effort.

Finished Chest Measurements: 26.5,30.75, 34.75, 38, 42.25, 46.25, 50.5, 54.25, 57.25, 61.75, 64.75 inches

Materials: 1150, 1300, 1450, 1575, 1725, 1850, 2050, 2175, 2325, 2525, 2700 yds. Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport will knit up beautifully in this pattern. (Shepherd Sport gets 6 sts per inch, usually on a #4 needle.)

US#5 (or size needed to get gauge) in a 29" or longer circular needle and stitch markers.

Gauge is 6 sts per inch.

Random cables of varying sizes are the main focus of this jacket. The cables begin without any introduction at the lower body edge, while the indented sleeves start with turned-back cuffs worked in horizontal ribbing. Front edges are also trimmed with horizontal ribbing, and end with an extended tab for the single-button closure.
