Carol Bristol Designs: The Penelope Tote

Carol uses Cascade 220 in many of her patterns. Very well known for its excellent felting qualities and extreme range of colors.


The Penelope Tote

2 bags to knit and felt.

Approx 9" tall, 10" long, 3 1/2" wide.
A slip stitch pattern creates the vertical stripes! Attach purchased handles or knit sturdy I-cord handles around poly tubing (neat stuff at the hardware store). A matching 6" accessory clutch is included with the pattern.

Materials: 494 yards main color worsted weight yarn main yarn and 247 yards contrast color required for tote and accessory clutch.
Yarn: Cascade 220 solids and heathers or hand dyed paints.

Tools: US#11 (8mm) 24" circular, pair of US#11 double points. Clutch requires a 16" #11 (8mm) needle. Split ring markers (5 with one being unique color) and 4 simple stitch markers (split ring will do) or coilless pins. Tapestry needle. 2 Decorative buttons and velcro (or magnetic closures.)

Gauge: 3 sts per inch.
